Terms of Service
Last updated: May 25, 2026
Welcome to Odyssey Skul. By using this site, creating an account, or playing a module, you agree to these terms. Please read them.
1. What we offer
Odyssey Skul is a website that hosts immersive games for learning history, language, and culture. The first module is Nsayka Wawa, a game for learning Chinuk Wawa. We add modules over time, and the service changes as it grows.
2. Your account
You need to be at least 16 to create your own account. If you are younger, a parent, legal guardian, or teacher can create one and supervise your use of it. That adult is the account holder and is responsible for the account. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 16 or older, or that you are an adult setting it up for a younger learner.
Sign-in is passwordless: we email a single-use code to the address on file. You are responsible for keeping access to that inbox secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. Access to play a given module is granted per account; some modules may require us to grant you access before you can play.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site in any way that breaks the law
- Try to gain unauthorized access to the site, other accounts, or our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the site or its servers
- Scrape or harvest data from the site without permission, except for normal search-engine indexing
- Share your account in a way that abuses module access
We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms.
4. Your content and your data
You keep ownership of what you write to us, such as support messages. Your learning progress and game saves belong to you, and you can reset a module or delete your account at any time from your account area, as described in our Privacy Policy. Deletion is permanent.
5. Our content
The games, text, artwork, logos, and software on this site are owned by Odyssey Skul or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, redistribute, modify, or build derivative works from them without written permission, beyond normal personal use of the site as intended.
Chinuk Wawa is a living language belonging to its community of speakers. We present it to help people learn it, with respect for that community. Nothing here claims ownership of the language itself.
6. The service is provided as is
The site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be fixed, or that the learning content is complete or free of mistakes. We work hard on accuracy, especially with the language, but you use the site at your own discretion.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Odyssey Skul is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, including any loss of progress or data.
8. Third-party links and services
The site may link to or rely on third-party services, such as our email and bot-protection providers. We do not control third-party content or practices and are not responsible for them. Where those services handle your data, the relevant terms are in our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes
We may change these terms or the service at any time. Changes take effect when posted. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oregon.
11. Severability
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest stays in effect.
12. The whole agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Odyssey Skul about using this site.
